Evolis to present Tanzania voter card project at SDW 2016

28/04/16

Card personalization systems firm Evolis has revealed that it will present a major voter card project it has deployed with the Republic Of Tanzania at this year’s SDW 2016 conference.

One of the largest-ever instant voter card issuance projects, the deployment involves several printing systems especially tailored to governmental projects. Ludovic Simonneau from Evolis will present this voter card project, for which thousands of Biometric voter kits were deployed.

The project involved the enrolment and instant issuance of voter cards in preparation for a presidential election in Tanzania in 2015. An innovative mobile biometric system including a desktop card printer from Evolis was used to verify eligibility of citizens in just a few minutes, register their personal information and instantly issue personalized voter cards.

Some 24 million voter identification cards were issued in three months. The conference will demonstrate the benefits of decentralized voter card issuance and present which lessons were learned and how to increase the success of such projects.

Co-speaking with Ludovic, Oostewald Immink from Bytes System Integration, will share his expertise on managing large scale biometric voter registration projects.

Evolis will also be exhibiting at SDW 2016, 10-12 May, London, UK. SDW is a world-leading conference and exhibition event providing a global showcase for next-generation human identity solutions, focusing on intrinsic document security and on the new cutting-edge secure infrastructure now required to produce and use these advanced documents in live situations. www.sdw2016.com
