First speakers revealed for connect:ID 2017

The organisers of secure identity technology event connect:ID 2017 have confirmed the first speakers for the show's industry-leading conference.

Powered by Science Media Partners and the International Biometrics + Identity Association (IBIA), the conference and exhibition will be held from May 1-3, 2017 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.

First speakers announced for connect:ID 2017 include Anne Shere Wallwork, senior counselor for Strategic Policy, Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Wallwork will cover digital legal identity as a lynchpin for financial inclusion, social services, and protecting the financial system from abuse

Dr Brett Sovereign, systems security researcher for the IoT Team, Information Assurance Research, National Security Agency (NSA), will be also offering insight into wearable authentication for the secure enterprise.

Although these are just the first speakers to be announced, it is clear the conference will be covering an extensive  range of identity-related topics, from multiple industry viewpoints.

For instance, John Verdi, vice president of policy at the Future of Privacy Forum will be covering the “Ethical uses of (automated) identity data as a social good”.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Dholakia, vice president for Products & Business Development at Nok Nok Labs will be speaking on weaving identity into the internet of things.
