TROY unveils PageWide 556 SecureUV printer

Document security solutions firm Troy has released the TROY PageWide 556 SecureUV Printer, which is specifically designed for high demand security printing applications.

In a statement, the firm said the TROY PageWide 556 SecureUV Printer offers personalized, on-demand document security, along with the lowest cost of ownership and fastest print speed in its class.

TROY’s on-demand ultraviolet (UV) technology provides a SecureUV feature either invisible or within black text and graphics. Combined with the full-color printing capability of the 556, using OEM magenta and cyan, TROY says it has created a powerful new way to add personalized layers of document authentication, copy detection, and fraud deterrence to important documents.

TROY SecureUV Ink an invisible layer of covert security into each document, only visible when illuminated with a UV light. SecureUV Ink can produce text and graphics, and prints simultaneously with the black, cyan and magenta ink cartridges allowing for single-pass color printing. This capability provides a useful means to embed security elements within a visible color graphic or even as an invisible graphic within a document.

The 556 also prints with TROY’s Standard UV Ink which is designed for security documents at risk for alteration or counterfeiting. Standard UV ink is part of the black (K) cartridge, visible as black text or graphics under normal light and highlighted when viewed under a UV light source. When document elements are printed using this TROY ink, they become a security feature unique to the document.

John Hodgson, Vice President and General Manager at TROY Group. explained, “We are seeing solid demand for the PageWide 452 throughout the world, but found that larger organizations with higher volume requirements were looking for a more powerful solution. Hence the reason for the release of the PageWide 556. Our goal is empowering organizations to protect each document at the point of issue, thereby managing fraud and reducing operational risks. The 556 enhances our wide breadth of hardware, firmware and software to meet the demands of regional offices to large facilities. We believe our comprehensive range of solutions clearly position TROY as a leader in the field of document security.”
