Precise Biometrics has improved its result despite lower sales in the second quarter of 2010.
The company’s net sales for the first half of 2010 reached 26.4 million SEK, up from 21.9 SEK for the same time last year. Sales in the second quarter were 7.1 million SEK, down from 9.7 million SEK for Q2 2009. The group’s half year income was -5.1 million SEK compared to -11.6SEK for the first half of 2009. Its income for the quarter was -4.7 million SEK compared to -9.0 for the same time last year.
The majority of Precise’s sales for the first six months of 2010 were based on a combination of fingerprint readers and sales of licenses to existing customers.
During the second quarter, the company released several new products including Precise BioMatch ANSI 378, an integration tool for the development of solutions based on standardised fingerprint technology. ANSI 378 has been specified by the US authorities for the PIV card being issued to employees.
