Holograms battle against ID counterfeiting

Since being developed over 60 years ago, holograms have become one of the most successful overt anti-counterfeiting measures. Here, Ian Lancaster, general secretary of the International Hologram Manufacturers’ Association (IHMA), looks back at the history of security holograms, particularly in the battle against passport fraud, and what the future holds for this versatile and effective technology.
