Biometric Standards

Biometrics are coming of age. One indicator of this is the advancement and availability of technical standards for biometrics. Standardization efforts began before 9/11, but this event catalysed standards development. Today, schemes such as ePassports, seafarer ID, TWIC and the US Federal Employee Personal Identity Verification project are all end users adopting the new standards.
