PROOFTAG™ proposes a revolutionary technology in the field of identity document security that organically creates variations in a polymer substrate, resulting in a unique, individualized document security tag. Each identity document is therefore individually secured by a physically and visually unique security device.

 

This new technology is called the Bubble Tag™.

 

A Bubble Tag™ is comprised of up to 90 bubbles randomly dispersed in a thin layer of polymer. Due to the randomness of this bubble pattern, it becomes as unique as a fingerprint or a snowflake. According to the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) the probability of duplication is 1 in 10¹⁶⁰ .

 

Because the bubbles are captured in a layer of polymer they become three-dimensional. PROOFTAG™ captures the 3D Bubble Tag™ pattern image, assigns it an identification number and scans the image to a web-enabled database.

 

Activation of the Bubble Tag™ happens only at the time of issuance of the identity document where this physically unique Bubble Tag™ image is associated with the variable data of the document (Biodata, document content, scan of the document…) in a specific database controlled by the issuing entity.

 

Today Bubble Tags™ are embedded in plastic cards by card manufacturers, or proposed as a tamper evident Bubble Seal™ that can be permanently affixed to any paper document.

 

After application, the Bubble Tag™ can be verified visually or electronically by connecting to a secure database and comparing the retrieved Bubble Tag™ pattern with the Bubble tag™ embedded in the document as well as its associated bearer’s information.

 

The Bubble Tag™ acts as a physically unique 3D optical key that is used to protect documents from falsifications and counterfeits.
The validation of the integrity of the documents can now be certified using fast and secure technology.
