Dutch inlay supplier SMARTRAC has seen business grow in the burgeoning ePassport market, and has now shipped more than 10 million ePassport inlays to its customers worldwide. The company says that 20 countries – including the US – already rely on its inlay products for their ePassport programmes.

“We are ideally positioned for the coming boom in ePassports, and are setting standards with our high-security technology,” says Manfred Rietzler, CEO of SMARTRAC. “We are playing a key role in the development of this growth market, and are constantly expanding our capacities in the field of ePassport inlays so that we can satisfy strong global demand.”

The company has also recently registered DURASOFT, its multi-layer inlay material designed specifically for ePassports, with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

“The technology we have developed offers solutions for all passport programmes currently in existence,” says Manfred Rietzler. “SMARTRAC supplies high-quality ePassport inlays in the paper-like DURASOFT material as well as in paper and textile fabric,” he adds.
