New president for Datacard’s Chinese operations

Timothy Cheung has been appointed as president of China for
Datacard Group.
“Datacard Group has experienced significant growth in China over the past few years and we are very pleased to bring on such a strong leader,” says Todd Wilkinson, CEO of Datacard Group. “Timothy’s depth of knowledge in the Chinese market and strong leadership skills will provide us with the additional talent needed to propel greater global growth and success for the company.”
Cheung has held a number of leadership roles. Most recently he was president of SAP in China, and previously spent 22 years with IBM – where he held a variety of leadership positions, including vice president and general manager, Global Technology Services for IBM, Greater China. He also held leadership functions in the financial services sector during his tenure with IBM.
According to the company Cheung will report directly to the CEO and be based out of its Beijing office, where he will be responsible for overseeing all sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain in that region as he positions Datacard for additional growth in China and Hong Kong.
Sherman Cai has also been promoted to the position of vice president of China for Datacard Group. The company says: “Cai is an accomplished industry leader and continues to be responsible for the sale of all Datacard products across Greater China.”
It adds: “The addition of Mr Cheung partnered with the industry knowledge of Mr Cai strengthen Datacard Group’s continued commitment to the company’s customers in the Greater China market and best positions Datacard Group for continued market-leading growth.”
