Data entry producer DESKO and software developer AssureTec Technologies have announced a strategic alliance to offer AssureTec`s authentication library software (Reveal ID) with the PENTA document scanner.

According to the companies, this combined package of a fast high-resolution scanner paired with a comprehensive authentication library offers class-leading counterfeit detection not visible to the naked eye. The alliance will allow both companies to further expand their markets globally to help stem fast-growing international identity fraud.

The PENTA full-page document scanner offers reading and image capture technology and includes optional touch screen display, 10 hours of battery powered stand-alone operation and LAN / WLAN. According to the companies, PENTA Terminal set-up allows for complete stand-alone IP based operation in a highly flexible environment. Documents are scanned and specific information is compared, classified and authenticated by the AssureTec database. The AssureTec authentication library includes driving licences, all ICAO passports, visas, residence cards (green cards), and ID1 and 2 cards. Together with AssureTec, DESKO says it is able to offer fast and secure automated data capture for numerous anti-fraud applications including: border control, immigration, government access, gaming and casinos, hotel registration, car rental, kiosk, banking and retail.
