AOptix Technologies has announced that Unisys has become an AOptix strategic alliance partner. Unisys will offer AOptix InSight iris recognition and face capture systems to its customers using biometrics for identity verification, national border management and aviation security.
AOptix says its iris recognition solutions already process tens of thousands of biometric transactions per day. Applications include aviation security at London Gatwick Airport as well as other major airports, and immigration controls such as all air, land and sea border crossings in Qatar.
“Iris recognition is a non-contact, non-invasive technology approach that is very accurate for high confidence authentication,” says Terry Hartmann, vice president for Global Security Solutions at Unisys. “Unisys will be integrating AOptix products into the Unisys LEIDA (Library of eID Artifacts software) framework, which creates building blocks for identity and credentialing solutions to accelerate development and reduce implementation time.”
“From national identity programmes to busy aviation checkpoints, our InSight systems are well suited for high throughput, high volume deployments where ease of use is critical – especially when language barriers are present,” says Dale Bastian, vice president of Sales at AOptix.
