NEC showcases aviation technologies
28 May 2012
NEC has recently unveiled a selection of technologies designed for airport operators and airline agencies around the world.
Of particular interest to those in the security document industry is the firm’s IDentiBoard system. The company says this is designed to provide secured, fast and seamless processing of passengers’ details from check-in, immigration clearance, airport security to boarding, using fully automated uni- or multi-modal biometric recognition technologies to improve the overall passenger boarding process. This system provides personalised boarding ID, speeds up clearance and improves security at the airport, thereby increasing operational efficiency for flight boarding.
“With the aim of making society more satisfying and secured through advanced technologies, NEC is now expanding its suite of ICT technologies and solutions to the transportation industry, in line with our ‘Safer Cities’ concept,” says Tan Boon Chin, managing director at NEC Asia Pacific’s Regional Competency Centre for Public Safety. “As the global travel industry continues to expand with more travellers and flights, the aviation industry can leverage these latest technologies to improve the airport and airlines’ operational efficiency and boost public security.”
