3M Rochford Thompson and IRIS Corp have resolved their patent infringement litigation pending in the US Court of Federal Claims relating to passport scanners for reading ePassports.
Under the terms of the settlement, 3M has been granted a non-exclusive license under IRIS’s US Patent ‘apparatus and method for providing access to secured data or area’, and its related foreign and continuation patents. The settlement also includes the dismissal of the lawsuit between IRIS, Winston Williams, the US, 3M Rochford Thompson and Fulcrum IT Services Company pending before the US Court of federal claims in Washington DC.
Specific terms of the settlement agreement have not been made public.
