US-based Graphic Security Systems Corporation (GSSC) has filed a suit against UK firm Nautilus Security over security technology sold in the brand protection and document security market. GSSC alleges that Nautilus is marketing products that infringe GSSC’s intellectual property.
The suit was filed in Greenville, South Carolina federal court last month.
In its case against Nautilus Security, GSSC seeks injunctive relief to prevent Nautilus from using GSSC’s patented technology. GSSC may also seek damages from Nautilus.
GSSC says it has provided its patented security technology to government-authorised security printing firms and major corporations for more than 25 years.
In 1997, GSSC first introduced one of its digital encoding technologies on US postage stamps with its licensee, the US Postal Service.
GSSC says it currently holds more than 40 patents on security technology for brand protection and document security in the US and worldwide.
