The database provides information on the card’s visual appearance as well as illustrated details of security features, layouts, and other information that can help confirm the authenticity of the ID card.

Dan Thoms, executive vice president for AllRegs says: “We believe this is the first electronically available database featuring identity documents, such as driver’s licenses, passports and military IDs. It should be used by any organisation checking IDs for identity verification, cheque cashing, financial transactions and other security checks.”

The database is targeted at police and military officers, airport security, department of motor vehicles, financial services firms and those involved in offering age-restricted products and services, such as alcohol, gaming and casinos.
