ASSA ABLOY names new ID group president

Juan Carlos García has been appointed as the new president of ASSA ABLOY’s Identification Technology group (ITG).

Garcia, who was previously CEO and COO at ORGA Kartensysteme, will start in his new position on 1 July this year and will be based in Walluf, Germany.

García will have worldwide responsibility for ITG, reporting directly to Joe Grillo, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and president of the Global Technologies Division. Grillo said that García will play a key role in further exploiting the synergies among a group of strong brands, including Sokymat, ACG, OMNIKEY and VisionCard.

García said: “My objective is to leverage our position in the field of RFID and ID Management to continue to drive the industry on the technology side and expand our presence in the different markets we serve today."
