ID Development is the latest supplier to announce its involvement in the Slovenian electronic passport project. The company says it will supply its photograph enhancement tool Pic2Pass to
Pic2Pass helps by making passport pictures adhere to ICAO guidelines. The technology includes size optimizing, an eye-distance module as well as a background removal algorithm.
ID Development joins a host of other suppliers for the Slovenian e-Passport. Gemalto will supply secure polycarbonate devices embedding its ePassport software technology. Meanwhile, it is believed that the chip supplier for the Slovenian passport is Philips, while Mühlbauer said earlier this year that it has been awarded contracts for the personalisation of the Slovenian ePassport.
Pic2Pass is one module from ID Developments’ data-capturing solution eCapture. The full range allows ID Development to offer a complete data capturing process, from passport picture scan, fingerprint and signature to complete LDS compliant personalization. The solution is also independent from any hardware or other technology providers.
