Croatian biometric passports from 2010

Local media reports say that Croatia will start issuing new biometric passports on 1 January next year.

The government has adopted a law on travel document amendments under which passports will contain fingerprints, facial biometrics and individual citizen ID numbers.

All public servants with diplomatic passports will be issued biometric ePassports from as early as 1 July.

Sagem Identification was selected by Croatian high-security printing house – the Agencija za komercijalnu djelatnost (AKD) – to provide a polycarbonate datapage with integrated chip technology for the new Croatian biometric passport.
