Oberthur to supply dual interface cards for US Gov

Oberthur Technologies has just received its first large-volume order for its federally certified dual interface cards from the US Government.

The dual interface card, named ID One Cosmo v5.5 128K D, is a single chip multi-application smart card micro-controller with two communication interfaces - contact and contactless. It provides secure data storage and processing capabilities specifically designed for identity and government market needs.

Use more advanced cryptographic tools within the smart card, this marks the first usage of large memory to support U.S. Federal policy like HSPD-12 other smart identity applications in the field.

Oberthur Technologies of America Corp. manufacturers cards for more than 75 federal agencies and government-sponsored programs including the Department of Defense’s Common Access Card, Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Registered Traveler.
