HJP leads BSI certification of Regula system

HJP Consulting has completed the German BSI certification process of the Regula series 7004EAC ePassport inspection system

Regula is the first EAC inspection system to be certified to the test standard BSI-TR 3105 part 5.1 ‘Test plan for ICAO compliant Inspection Systems with EAC 1.11’.

HJP Consulting worked with the TUViT, acting as the test laboratory for testing ePassports and ePassport inspection systems officially accredited by the BSI.

As a prime contractor, HJP was responsible for managing the test and certification processes on behalf of Regula. HJP says its test engineers assisted Regula during the process through intensive pre-testing in HJP’s own laboratories using the GlobalTester Prove IS testing tool. The GT Prove IS is based on the HJP Open Source test platform GT TestManager, which is available free of charge at www.globaltester.org.

According to HJP, the BSI is currently the only government agency in the world that offers a certification scheme for electronic ID documents and inspection systems to prove conformity with respective standards.

HJP Consulting has been working with the BSI to develop ePassport test standards since 2004.
