Nano security for secure document inks

Hungarian State Printing House, Állami Nyomda, has announced new security inks for ink-jet printers, based on nano technology.

According to the company, the nano ink-jet inks can raise the security of documents to a new level. Nano particles in the perfect suspension provide a longer life-span, better light-resistance and stronger physical wear resistance, the company claims. In addition, the more intensive fluorescence, the larger chemical stability and the possibility for the application of variable information provide high-level document security under simple office conditions.

The corporation will present its technology at the Intergraf conference and exhibition, to be held in Barcelona between 13th and 15th October, 2010.

Also at the show the company will present a client-customized detector-ink combination. VerifIR is specifically designed for documents requiring high security. The equipment is uniquely calibrated, meaning it recognizes only marks issued by the material calibrated to it and contained in the special ink.

The detector measuring infrared activity is particularly suitable for determining the originality of printed forms of great importance, namely personal identification cards, tax stamps or banknotes. The detector-ink combination is unique for each client.
