Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has released a tender seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide biometric technology and training for use in the Australia Passport Office (APO).
The APO has requirements for the provision of specialised biometric support, particularly in relation to the facial recognition system/s and is looking to further develop its capabilities in this area with a view to achieving business improvements (eg. productivity gains, enhanced fraud detection capabilities etc.). It is also investigating the potential utilisation and integration of other biometric technologies into its passport issuance and analysis systems.
Further details on the tender, which closes on 18 February 2011, are available from Planet Biometrics.
