Datacard Group acquires Ga-Vehren Engineering

Datacard Group, a provider of secure ID and card personalization solutions, is to acquire the assets and ongoing business operations of Ga-Vehren Engineering, a manufacturer of flexible, high speed print and package finishing machinery used in plastic card delivery, direct mail and commercial printing environments.

According to Datacard, the purchase brings complementary products to its portfolio, enhancing its ability to pursue growth opportunities in mobile telecom, loyalty, gift card, direct mail, commercial printing and print and package finishing. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

According to Jeff Hattara, Datacard Group president and CEO: "Our customers increasingly require more dynamic solution offerings and services for their high speed mailing and fulfillment operations. As part of the Datacard family, Ga-Vehren systems present a unique opportunity to further address this customer need, to leverage the strength of our global distribution and service channels, and to enhance the investments of those customers currently shared by the two companies."
