Speed Identity inks Estonian deal
Speed Identity has won a contract to supply passport enrolment equipment to the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board.
The follow-on contract will see the fleet of Speed Capture B1000 enrolment systems extended to 20 units with deployment at several new sites, thereby making passport application and enrolment available nationwide for Estonian citizens.
Speed Identity won a previous tender to supply Estonia five years ago.
According to the company Estonia has received international recognition for early adoption of the ePassport standard as well as for its high security standards in the issuance process and document itself.
Speed Identity says: Tough requirements for passport photos resulted in implementation of a photo-booth solution delivering maximum control over the illumination while reducing the sensitivity to ambient light.
“The new contract confirms our position as quality leader in Live Enrolment,” says Magnus Löfgren, CEO, Speed Identity. “With many customers looking for lowest-cost solutions, we are happy that the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board maintain their focus on high-quality photography and document integrity.
