Privaris names new CEO

Wireless biometric supplier Privaris has appointed John Petze as CEO of the company. Mr Petze will focus on the creation of strategic partnerships and sales channels to deploy Privaris’ new products into the market as quickly as possible. Mr Petze has also been elected a member of the Board of Directors. Dr Barry W Johnson, Privaris’ co-founder and former CEO, remains as chairman of the Board and additionally moves into the chief technology officer role.

Mr Petze was previously CEO of global software and services company Tridum. He has also served in a number of senior technical and management positions with hardware and software manufacturers.

“The next stage is to accelerate the deployment of our biometric solutions into the domestic and international marketplace, and to expand the infrastructure to support the large-scale adoption of the technology across consumer, commercial and government applications,” says John Petze.

Privaris recently introduced its plusID – a mobile, key-fob sized device which authenticates users by their fingerprint and provides secure access to buildings and other physical facilities, local and remote computers and networks, and online or onsite financial transactions.
