ImageWare inks deal with Honeywell

ImageWare Systems has signed a three-year royalty-based licensing agreement with Honeywell Security.

Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell is allowed to integrate biometric enrolment and identity proofing, as well as card management and issuance of biometrically-enabled secure credentials, into its physical access control product suite. The two companies say this deal will enable Honeywell to offer access control solutions for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), border management and other mission-critical environments worldwide.

ImageWare’s IWS Biometric Engine, IWS EPI Builder and IWS EPI Card Management System will be integrated into several Honeywell physical access control product families, including Pro-Watch, SmartPlus, WIN-PAK, Vindicator and LobbyWorks.

Honeywell will initially offer its solutions to federal government agencies and other enterprises in highly regulated industries that require integrated logical and physical access control systems.

“We believe ImageWare’s open architecture and interoperable technologies will assist Honeywell in meeting the growing demand for biometric identity management, credentialing and card management capabilities in government and other vertical markets, including finance, healthcare and education,” says John Lorenty, general manager, Honeywell Systems Group.
